The Ellis Contribution: Aubrey Ellis played Archibald, “Sally and Smithie’s son.” Both reviewers singled him out favourably; one calls him “the quintessential skate,” the other says he gives “an excellent characterisation of the young man who makes the heart of every mother with an eligible daughter drop into her stilettos.”

Critical Acclaim: Derek Wilson, “PG’s play succeeds in English,” The Argus, Friday 25 April 1980 — Wilson’s review is the source of the “quintessential skate” line.
